The essentials of performance reviews

Introduction

The periodic evaluation of an employee's total contribution to a firm as well as their performance on the job is what is referred to as a "performance appraisals." An employee's abilities, achievements, and growth—or lack thereof, depending on the results—are analyzed during a performance appraisals, which is also known as a yearly review, performance review or evaluation, or employee appraisal. Performance reviews are used by businesses to provide workers with comprehensive feedback on their work, as well as to justify salary raises and incentives, as well as choices on employment termination. They can be carried out at any time, although annually, semiannually, or quarterly are the most common intervals for doing so (Hayes, 2022).
